5 days before my flight I started contacting Qatar airways asking to add additional luggage to my booking, because on the internet I couldn’t technically add it. Qatar Central office didn't pick up the phone, me hanging online more than 30 min. several times. Qatar Singapore office was closed due to Covid. I contacted Qatar via FB, they said I should be able to purchase luggage in the airport. They didn't offer to help me book it online, so I thought the price should be the same. When I arrived to the airport, I was charged as excess luggage 50 USD per 1 kg. I was told I had to book it online (which I couldn't). So I had to pay 2000 USD for 40 kg.It was unacceptable. I had to throw in the airport all my personal clothes and belongings to be able to keep my Christmas presents to family. It was embarrassing and traumatic. At the end I still paid for 27 kg 1350 USD. It is unfair price. I offered in the airport to upgrade me to higher class, so that it includes luggage, and it would be fair for the price. However, I was denied it.
